In the Photograph Library we keep…. negatives and diapositives. Most of the photographs have been taken of research works in the museum related to ethnography, local history, cultural history, fine arts, applied arts and archaeology.
We continually document the exhibitions and other events of the institute. From 1988 a photograph taken of an item of a collection is inventoried separately in the photo inventory book of the collection in question. We started to computerize the photographic material in 1998 to facilitate orientation and the search for topics and the location of the photos.
We keep ….. items in the Documentation Department. The material incorporates documents about ethnography, local history, fine arts, applied arts, archaeological research work, handwritings of the publications of the associates working in the institute, dissertations on local history, the documents concerning the building and the organization of the museum. All data files of the Documentation Department are computerized which facilitates a diverse search.
External researchers can only work in the Documentation Department of the Göcseji Museum with a special license from the director.
